Latinos Played A Prominent Role in the 2013 Presidential Inauguration
We were proud to see many Latinos taking a prominent role in the 2013 Presidential Inauguration over the weekend. There was an extremely large and well-known Latino contingency present at the inauguration. Eva Longoria, co-chairwoman on President Obama's campaign, stood front and center, sharing her hopes and dreams of influencing decisions that affect Latinos.
Several other Latino stars were in the mix as well. Marc Anthony, Rosario Dawson, Antonio Banderas and others were all headliners for the performance at the Kennedy Center. These acts seemed to do a great job of bringing Latino culture into the spotlight and encouraging Latinos to consider the impact they can have on shaping the future of the U.S.
One of our favorite highlights was the swearing in of Vice President Biden. It was performed by Supreme Court Justice Judge Sonia Sotomayor. This was a wonderful testament to a progressive Latino culture. We can only hope our country continues down this path as a proud community.
